Good morning my lovely friends in fabric. Thank you so much for taking a moment out of your day to visit my small corner of the blogosphere.
Last September I met a slew of wonderful women at a one of a kind conference called Sew Pro. We’ve kept in touch and I am so grateful to them for supporting me and encouraging me. This spring we’ve banded together to share our passions with you in this blog hop.
I had a plan for this post, I would sew and share my daughters Easter dress! What could embody the prompt blossom more than a sweet floral Easter dress?? Well life happened and I ran out of time to make it before this post. Then I thought of something else I could do in time and then life happened and I forgot to post on time! I was so frustrated! I was so embarrassed to but this community of sewists understanding and supportive I felt better but still I was so frustrated with myself and then it occurred to me. These “things” that keep happening, that were getting my blog commitments so far behind, are my life! And right now I am in a beautiful stage of life. My life is blossoming!
In January our 4th child (3rd son) joined our family. My oldest is a 3rd grader. She has violin, gymnastics & just started girls on the run. My oldest son is in kindergarten and just started pee wee football and my 2 year old is with me and talking to me always! My husband has finished school and we are transition from “student life” to “this is our life” and I couldn’t be more glad for all of it!
Enough of all that for now, you guys are here for the sewing and I did manage to get something for all of you and you even will get a chance to win it!
My lovely stitching friends put together this beautiful quilt top and last week I quilted and finished it off for you 🙂 Melissa of Lovingly Lissa put the blocks together and sent the quilt top on to me. I was thrilled when I saw that she included some binding and M&Ms to get me through the quilting process!
So thoughtful! After I picked out the backing I got to work making my quilt sandwich. This was my first sandwich since Weasley joined our family and I’ll tell you what.. he made things dif.fi.cult!! but I persevered 😉
For the quilting I decided to go with a all over loopy look with some stars thrown in. I think any quilt could use more stars!
I was able to do this lap sized quilt on my domestic machine and I was so, so proud of my little Janome for cranking it out!
Here’s a close up of the label showing all the lovely ladies that contributed<3
